Drive, hike, boat ride and flight over the Angel Falls in 7 days

1 Day: Flight from Caracas to Ciudad Bolívar (-, -, -)

The guide will be expecting the group at Caracas airport and will fly to Ciudad Bolivar together with the group. Once in Ciudad Bolivar we drive to the Posada and have a briefing of the round trip. Accomodation at Posada La Casita in Ciudad Bolívar.

2 Day: Flight Ciudad Bolívar- Canaima and Canaima lagoon (B, L, D)

Early in the morning we fly with a Cessna from Ciudad Bolivar to Cainama airport for an hour. During the flight we can already enjoy the first view of the Caroni river, Guri water reservoir and the Grand Savanna. Bevor landing we see the first Tepuis, the Canaima lagoon and its waterfalls. With a long motorboat we ride across the Canaima lagoon passig by the waterfall of Salto Hacha, Salto Golondrina and Salto Ucaima. In the afternoon we hike to the impressive waterfall of Sapo. If the water level allows it, we walk behind the waterfall. An unforgettable experience. Because we might get wet, it is important to put on swimming wear. Accomodation at a lodge in front of the Canaima lagoon.

3 Day: Departure from Canaima to Angel Fall (B, L, D)

In the morning we ride on a motorboat in the Carrao river to the Angel Falls. Depending on the water level the ride might take between for 4 to 5 hours. In the dry season we might push together the boat a couple of times. It is amazing how we little by little see in the distance impressive and unique the Auyan Tepui canyon. We hike for 90 min to the viewpoint to the Angel Falls, the highest waterfall on earth. We have lunch at the river. The camp is located relatively close to the base of the Angel Fall. Accomodation in a basic lodge with hammocks.

4 Day: Angel Falls – Canaima and return to Ciudad Bolívar (B, L, -)

After breakfat we still have time to make some more pictures. After that we go back to Canaima lagoon and then fly back to Ciudad Bolivar. Accomodation in Ciudad Bolivar.

5 Day: Drive from Ciudad Bolívar to Orinoko Delta (B, L, D)

First we drive from Ciudad Bolivar to Boca de Uracoa in Delta Amacura state. From Boca de Uracoa harbour we ride on a boat for two hours to the nice Abujene Lodge which was built in the Warao indians style (with moriche plams).
After lunch we go on a boat excursion through the river stream laberynth of Orinoco Delta. A boat ride where we observe lots of bird species, Orinoco dolphins, howler monkeys and if we are liucky we might even see caimans. the sunset at the Orinoco Delta is beautiful, it is also the moment when lots od macows, parrots fly back to their roots. This expectacle can be easily seen from the Abujene lodge while enjoying a cuba libre.

6 Day: Orinoco Delta (B, L, D)

Early in the morning and after breakfast we go on big tour. First we ride on a boat in one of the main streams of the Orinoco river looking for wildlife. On the river banks we might see howler and capuchin monkeys jumping around while looking at dolphines and the lots of birds that seem to accompanying us. Then we go back to Abujene lodge to have lunch. In the afternoon we might also visit a Warao indian settlement and later on we go piranha fishing (known in Venezuela as Caribe).

7 Day: Orinoco Delta & return to Ciudad Bolivar (B, -, -)

In the morning and after breakfast we still have time for one more boat ride. This time we can ride another stream where we can observe lots of water birds. At noon we ride on a boat in the Orinoco river back to Boca de Uracoa and from there we drive back to Ciudad Bolivar.

After the round trip east Venezuela 7 days it is possible to book a flight in the Caribbean or to book another destination like the Llanos.
